Nakama at one time was a very active channel on IRC - lots of banter, role-playing and general shenanigans. Those were the days when IRC was one of the primary forms of chat and file transfer. Now there are many other options available to chat and share the love, so IRC is not a fan's only option.
Nakama is still one of the largest BL channels on IRC and a lot of old friends and fans still haunt the chan. ^_^ There are always a few staff members floating around on IRC. We also still use IRC as one of our primary methods of file distribution. So don't count IRC out.
